NAMAKGALE- Capricorn FM broadcast in English and 30% vernacular (Tshivenda, Sepedi and Xitsonga). As a commercial radio station, the broadcasting format carries 70% music and 30% talk shows, in an attempt to feature a variety of urban genres in R&B, soul, afro-pop, afro soul, hip hop, kwaito, house and also cater for jazz and gospel music lovers.
Capricorn Fm has got a programme whereby this provincial radio station takes radio to the people. A lot of people listen to Capricorn fm and a lot of people love the radio station, on the 15th of October 2016 Capricorn fm had activation where it gave out 10 hampers and VIP tickets to the Capricorn fm event after party in Namakgale Big 5 to listeners who spots out the Capricorn fm VW Polo.
Marketing manager of Capricorn fm Ntsieni Ramabulana said that the activation is to great excitement to the listeners of Capricorn Fm and give out hampers to listeners. Ramabulana said ‘ this activation is to create an opportunity for listeners to take photos with the presenters of our station, shake their hands and have the wonderful feel of Capricon fm VIP style’.
The activation is a monthly programme where listeners vote for Capricorn fm presenters to visit to their town and have the feel of having their presenters live. Ramabulana explained that ‘the first activation was in Grobersdaal and after that it was in Musina where the re-branding of Capricorn fm took place’.
