Monthly run and cycle takes off

HOEDSPRUIT – The Pam Golding - Ecologic Breakfast Run & Cycle is fast becoming a phenomenon in our area. Pierre Diederichs of Ecologic 3D (Pty) Ltd and Belinda Barkas of Pam Golding, the initiators of the event, were both extremely pleased with the turnout of athletes, wannabe-athletes, Moms, Dads and kiddies on Saturday morning, March 5.

Despite many of Hoedspruit’s cyclists being away at the Argus, and the serious runners attending Comrades qualifying races, a large contingent of participants still turned up. More than a 100 breakfasts were served at the end destination, the Bush Pub and Inn.

Thanks to Col Oosthuisen of Air Force Base Hoedspruit, the 32 kilometre cycle race took riders through the nature conservation area between town and the Timbavati; a unique opportunity that will not be repeated again soon.

The next event is scheduled for the end of April 2016 and the organisers are hoping to attract many more participants for this amazing fitness event for the entire family, from even as far as our neighbouring towns, Phalalborwa, Lydenburg and Tzaneen.
