Blyde Xfest 2015 ‘going back to our roots’

HOEDSPRUIT – Once again it is Xfest time in Hoedspruit! The 8th annual Blyde Xfest will be taking place at Blyde Adventure Camp next weekend.

With record entries last year, Blyde Adventure is looking forward to kayakers converging on the Canyon to tackle the Pro Race in the spectacular Upper Blyde River, the greenest canyon in the world: our very own Blyde River Canyon. Fun lovers will no doubt descend on the adventure camp to take part in the social croc and tube races.

Action will start on Saturday February 28 at the Blyde Adventure Camp.

Xfest organizer Ronel Strauss says ‘we’re going back to our roots with this year’s festival by focusing on the water sports in the summer, and we’ll announce the dates for the MTB race in June later this year.’

‘We kick off the day with a beginner and intermediate kayak race, and then everyone is welcome to enter for the social croc and tube races from 11:00 onwards. You don’t need any paddling experience to join in the fun        on the croc and tube races – just an awesome sense of humor,’ says Ronel.

Only children over 13 are allowed, and must be accompanied by their parents.

The entry process has been made super easy, just go to the website and fill in the online entry form.

‘Come and play with us in the river and experience a wetter side of life!’ ends Ronel.
